Dolvi
The sprawling 1200-acre Dolvi complex is a showcase of modern technology and a prime example of integrated steel manufacture. It is here that world-class sponge iron and hot rolled coils from Ispat Industries are manufactured at competitive rates.
Strategically located on the coast of Maharashtra, the complex is well connected through road, rail and sea, and enjoys an uninterrupted supply of water, power and gas. The convenient coastal location facilitates easy access to the plant and makes the import and export of raw materials and finished goods extremely cost-effective.
Also, being situated very close to India's commercial capital - Mumbai, Dolvi has easy access to major markets in Western India.
In addition to its strategic location, the Dolvi complex includes the finest infrastructure. It has a captive port located close to it on the Amba River, which opens into the Arabian Sea. This port can handle barges and mini-bulk carriers up to 4000 dry weight tonnage (DWT). Moreover, a jetty adjoining the complex is capable of handling cargo of up to 5 million tonnes per annum, by virtue of its array of modern loading and unloading facilities. The complex also houses a 350 MW combined cycle captive power plant that ensures continuous power supply. And future plans for the plant include a private railway siding.
